Participating in security campaign against ISIS | NDF send large military reinforcement to Deir Ezzor desert

Syrian Observatory activists have reported that the National Defence Forces (NDF) sent nearly 30 military vehicles to south Deir Ezzor desert this morning with the aim to participate in combing operations carried out by regime forces and their proxy militias, searching for ISIS, which is prevalent in the region and carry out periodical attacks on regime positions and posts.

It is worth noting that Russian fighter jets participate in these combing operations through executing intensive airstrikes on caves and bunkers where ISIS members are believed to be hiding.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that Russian jets resumed their airstrikes on the Syrian desert, as they successively executed intensive airstrikes on ISIS positions in various areas of the Syrian desert. According to SOHR sources, the Russian fighter jets executed over 40 airstrikes since morning, targeting the surrounding areas of Jabal al-Bishri near the administrative border between al-Raqqah and Deir Ezzor, al-Mayadeen desert in eastern Deir Ezzor, and al-Sukhnah desert in the eastern countryside of Homs, near the administrative border with Deir Ezzor, amid confirmed reports of casualties among ISIS.
