Syrian desert | Two NDF members killed in landmine explosion in al-Mayadeen, while groups of regime forces deploy in Homs

Russian fighter jets continue intensive airstrikes on various positions in the desert

SOHR activists have reported that two members of the National Defence Forces were killed due to a landmine explosion in their vehicle in al-Mayadeen desert this afternoon, as they were returning from Faidat Ibn Mouenaa to al-Mayadeen city in eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

 

SOHR activists have monitored wide deployment by members of the National Defence Forces and Russian-backed militias near al-Dabyat oil field in al-Sukhnah Desert in the eastern countryside of Homs and in Jabal al-Bishry area in Deir Ezzor desert, searching for ISIS hidden cells.

 

Moreover, SOHR has obtained information confirming that ISIS members implemented several ambushes and hit-and-run attacks on regime positions in al-Sukhnah in the countryside of Homs. However, no casualties have been reported so far.

 

On the other hand, Russian jets and regime aircraft carried out more than 40 airstrikes today, which were concentrated on Homs and Hama deserts.

 

Accordingly, the number of airstrikes in the past 72 hours have exceeded 170.

 

SOHR documented yesterday that Russian and regime aircraft carried out more than 130 airstrikes since June 15.

 

Since 24th of March 2019, SOHR has documented the killing of at least 1,475 regime soldiers and loyalists of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, including at least two Russians, and 152 Iranian-backed militiamen of non-Syrian nationalities. All were killed in attacks, bombings and ambushes by the “Islamic State”, west of Euphrates in the deserts of Deir Ezzor, al-Raqqah, Homs, al-Suwaidaa, Hama and Aleppo.

 

Also, four civilians working in gas fields, tens of shepherds and other civilians were killed and documented by SOHR in the same period, from late March 2019 until today. They were killed in attacks by ISIS cells. While 968 ISIS members were also killed in attacks and bombardment in the same period due to shillings , targeting and attacks.
