Daraa | Warplanes hover over Daraa to press people rejecting Russian requests of new settlement

Daraa province: Daraa city, in the early hours of Friday, has witnessed hovering of warplanes for the second time since the regime forces have controlled the province in 2018. The overflights are means for giving pressures to the population and inhabitants of the city who reject Russian demands to strike new settlements with dozens of people and seize their personal weapons and transfer former leaders settlements to the area of al-Dareej, while the regime forces and its security service have closed the basic road to the city in the neighborhoods of Daraa al-Balad and Daraa al-Mahatah amid expecting eruption of protests in solidarity with Daraa city.

Earlier in the morning, SOHR activists reported armed attacks by using light weapons during the past few hours on the headquarters of state security, and the military security and checkpoints of the regime forces and its security service in the city of Nawi and the surrounding areas in the western sector of Daraa countryside, without information about casualties.

The attacks came after the regime forces and security service have brought military reinforcement to Daraa city beside closing basic roads in light of new Russian settlements and giving personal weapons to dozens to the people in the city which provoked wide popular rejection amid call for protests against such demands.

Yesterday, SOHR activists have reported that Russian officers have met nearly a week ago with the central committee in Daraa city and asked them to quit personal weapons that were possessed by some persons in some neighborhoods in Daraa and urged them to also strike new reconciliation and settlement deals. However, their request was met with wide popular rejection in different areas of al-Hawarn.

It is worth noting that the second time the warplanes were seen hovering over Daraa after the accidents in Tafes in the western countryside in January.
