Violations against press freedom | Syrian regime arrests member of the national coordination committee in Damascus.

SOHR have reported that Syrian regime forces arrested the Syrian journalist and playwright  “Bassam Safar ‘ the member of executive bureau of the national coordination committee last evening ,Thursday June 24, at Bab Sharqi checkpoint, the entrance of al-Duwelaa, in the capital, Damascus, for unknown reasons.

 

Regime forces previously arrested and released “Safar” in the beginning of June while travelling between al-Qameshly and Damascus

 

It is worth noting that “Safar” had been imprisoned by Syrian regime in 1986, as he spent six years in prison for “being a member in the Communist Action Party, during Hafez al-Assad era.
