Growing popular anger | Watad company raises fuel prices in HTS-held areas in Idlib province
SOHR sources in areas under the control of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and opposition factions in Idlib province have reported new increase in fuel prices by petroleum companies affiliated with HTS. It is worth noting that this is the fifth time for these companies to raise the fuel prices in only 14 days, while the prices were declined on only one occasion during the same period. As always, the new increase in fuel prices has been justified to the increase in exchange rate of the US dollar against the Turkish currency. The maximum average of prices in petrol stations have been set as follows:
- Imported petrol: 7.19 TL per litre
- Imported oil (high quality): 6.71 TL per litre
- Imported oil (medium quality): 5.84 TL per litre
- Refined oil: 4.50 TL per litre
- A gas cylinder: 98 TL.
The new increase in fuel prices has ignited considerable popular anger.
