After air attack of their largest base in Syria | International Coalition and SDF bombard Iranian-held areas eastern Euphrates

SOHR activists in Deir Ezzor have reported that the international coalition forces escorted by SDF have bombarded Zeibian city in eastern Deir Ezzor which is the last area under control of SDF in Euphrates on the opposite side of the river where the Iranian forces and factions are stationed. The international coalition and SDF have been staging a large combing operation in the area following the air attack on the coalition largest base in Syria, which is al-Omar oilfield.
Earlier in the day, SOHR activists have reported that a drone that expected to be affiliated to the Iranian factions in the morning have been launched from areas under control of the factions in al-Mayadeen city countryside in east of Deir Ezzor targeting “al-Omar oilfield” which is the largest base of the International Coalition in Syria at the eastern bank of Euphrates River. Meanwhile, the International Coalition forces and the SDF, in al-Omar oilfield base, have intercepted the attack by ground antimissile fire, but no information has been reported about casualties.

On July 5, SOHR activists, in western Euphrates area, reported that Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards have withdrawn large number of Iranian-made missiles from al-Rahaba castle around al-Mayadeen in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside in the past few hours.

According to SOHR, the forces have transferred the rockets by ferries amid strict security measures towards Tal al-Bateen and Hawi al-Mayadeen area, which are the same areas where the Iranian forces have established launcherpads in May. It is worth noting that the bases areas are directed towards eastern Euphrates under control of the SDF and the al-Homar oil field in the nearest area to the bases. The transfer of missile coincided with growing escalations between the US and the Iranian sides recently.

On July 4, SOHR activists reported hearing several explosions in al-Omar oil field which hosts the largest military base of the International Coalition in Syria, as several missiles fired from areas under the control of Iranian-backed militias in al-Mayadeen countryside in Deir Ezzor countryside, west of the Euphrates river, hit the field’s residences. However, no casualties have been reported.
