Feuding factions | Clashes erupt among Turkish-backed factions in rural Afrin

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have monitored armed clashes among Turkish-backed factions in northern countryside of Afrin, where a conflict raged between Ahrar al-Sharqiya factions and factions of the 9th Division for unknown reasons, which evolved to armed clashes with medium weapons and machine guns in Raju district in the north-western countryside of Afrin. However, no casualties have been reported yet.

This development coincides with the escalating security chaos and the influence of the Turkish-backed factions in the area.

On July 7, SOHR activists reported violent clashes between Liwaa Shamar under control of al-Hamza division on one side and al-Jabha al-Shamiya and Ahrar al-Sham al-Islamiyah on the other in al-Sokariyah area stationed near al-Bab city eastern Aleppo.

SOHR activists reported that clashes were caused by difference between the factions over opening a road of trafficking towards the regime-held areas in the region.
