Israeli attack on military posts | Five of Iran-backed factions killed in southeast Aleppo

SOHR activists have documented death of the five members of the Iran-backed factions due to an Israeli attack before yesterday midnight in Aleppo countryside. The breakdown of deaths are two of Syrian nationals of Shiaa sect in Nubel and al-Zahraa and three non-Syrians of Iran-backed factions who were all killed in the Israeli attacks on military base and posts of the Iranian militia in Jabl al-Waha area in al-Sferah neighborhood in southeast Aleppo. Number of deaths is expected to rise because some wounded sustained dangerous injuries.

Yesterday, SOHR activists confirmed that the Israeli strikes targeted the area of Jabal al-Waha, near the scientific research centre and the Syrian regime’s defence factories in al-Sferah area in Aleppo countryside. It is worth noting that the targeted site hosts Iranian base and weapons warehouses which were destroyed in the Israeli attack. However, no casualties have been reported so far.

SOHR activists just reported hearing loud explosions in al-Sferah area in the eastern countryside of Aleppo due to Israeli strikes on regime military positions which hosts headquarters and weapons warehouses belonging to the Iranian-Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Iranian-backed militias.

It is worth noting that these strikes are the first after the departure of “Netanyahu” the former prime minister of Israel.

On June 9, SOHR activists reported the death of 11 Syrian regime soldiers and militiamen of the National Defense Forces, including a brigadier general, due to Israeli attacks on the scientific research centre in Kharbat al-Tinah and other military posts and positions in the area in west Homs countryside. The strikes also targeted an ammunition warehouse belonging to the Lebanese Hezbollah, south of Homs city.
