Syrian desert | Russian fighter jets strike ISIS positions, as regime forces and their proxies continue searching for ISIS members

SOHR activists have reported that Russian fighter jets struck several positions in in al-Shawla desert in southern Deir Ezzor and al-Rasafah in the south-west of al-Raqqah province, along with ongoing combing operations by regime forces and their proxy militias, searching for hideouts of ISIS members.

 

Moreover, Russian jets have executed several airstrikes on Hama and Homs deserts.

 

On July 20, Russian fighter jets executed over 50 airstrikes on ISIS positions in the Syrian Desert, as SOHR activists reported that six Russian jets consecutively targeted caves and bunkers in the eastern countryside of Hama, Maadan desert in al-Raqqah, east Homs Desert, the vicinity of al-Bashry Mountain on the administrative border between al-Raqqah and Deir Ezzor, amid confirmed reports of fatalities.

 

A day earlier, SOHR activists reported the death of four regime soldiers after being shot by ISIS cells which were prevalent in Palmyra desert in east Homs countryside. The regime soldiers were killed two days earlier while military groups of the regime forces were combing the desert before they were ambushed and murdered by ISIS. Funeral of those soldiers was held in the afternoon from the military hospital in Homs city.
