Syrian desert | Russian jets successively strike ISIS positions, along with ongoing combing operations by regime forces
Syrian Observatory activists have monitored six Russian fighter jets successively targeting ISIS positions in the area between al-Shawla desert in Deir Ezzor countryside and the triangle of Hama-Aleppo-al-Raqqah and east Homs desert. These airstrikes coincided with the ongoing combing operations by regime forces and their proxy militias, searching for ISIS cells in al-Shawla desert.
On July 22, SOHR activists reported that Russian fighter jets struck several positions in al-Shawla desert in southern Deir Ezzor and al-Rasafah in the south-west of al-Raqqah province, along with ongoing combing operations by regime forces and their proxy militias, searching for hideouts of ISIS members. Moreover, Russian jets executed several airstrikes on Hama and Homs deserts.
