Regime-controlled areas

 

-Reliable sources have informed SOHR that a senior Iranian commander in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps was killed in Syria in the past few hours. The commander, who was the most prominent one in Liwaa Fatemiyoun, was known as “Sayed Ahmed Qurayshi” and he came to Syria in 2013, where he participated in many military operations alongside Qassem Soleimani the former commander of al-Quds Brigade. However, ambiguity has been still surrounding the circumstances of his death, and it is not known if he was killed in the latest Israeli airstrikes on Homs countryside.

 

-Syrian Observatory activists have monitored six Russian fighter jets successively targeting ISIS positions in the area between al-Shawla desert in Deir Ezzor countryside and the triangle of Hama-Aleppo-al-Raqqah and east Homs desert. These airstrikes coincided with the ongoing combing operations by regime forces and their proxy militias, searching for ISIS cells in al-Shawla desert.

 

-SOHR activists have reported that negotiation committees reached a final agreement with regime security committee yesterday evading military operation in Daraa al-Balad. Meanwhile, negotiation committees and regime forces agreed today on a mechanism of implementing the agreement on stages start tonight, stipulating for the following terms:

 

  • First day: handing over light weapons in possession of the town’s locals in return for stopping provocation practices by the regime.

 

  • Second day: concealing private weapons and all kind of arm presence.

 

  • Third day: entry of the reconciliation committee escorted by Daraa committee to Daraa al-Balad through al- Saraya checkpoint in order to settle the security situation of 135 persons.

 

  • Fourth day: entry of security services to choose locations of the three checkpoints agreed upon previously.

 

  • Fifth day: withdrawal of regime forces to their barracks and reopening all roads to Dara al-Balad.

 

 

Aleppo

 

-SOHR sources have reported that an armed group of Malak Shah faction arrested a civilian from Afrin’s Ma’batli yesterday and took him to the faction’s prison in the district for unknown reasons.

 

-SOHR activists have reported that the number of Turkish soldiers killed in the rocket attack by Kurdish forces on their vehicle on Hezwan frontlines in Aleppo countryside, has risen to three.

 

On the other hand, Turkish forces and their proxies fired more than 200 artillery shells and rockets on areas under the control of Kurdish troops and al-Bab Military Council in Aleppo countryside, along with clashes on Hezawan frontlines which blocked the roads in that region.

 

SOHR activists had documented the death of a Turkish soldier and serious injuries to four others, after their vehicle was targeted on the frontline of Hazawan in Aleppo countryside by an anti-tank guided missile fired by Kurdish forces.

 

SOHR activists also reported that Kurdish troops shelled, with artillery, Turkish military post in Hazawan town in Aleppo countryside, amid reports of fatalities among Turkish troops and their proxies.

 

Meanwhile, Turkish forces stationed in military bases in Jabal al-Sheikh Aqeel and Hazawan bombarded the villages of Zuweyan, Radar and al-Sha’ala in al-Bab countryside in eastern Aleppo. Moreover, Turkish forces and their proxies expanded their shelling, targeting Kurdish-held villages of Tel al-Madiq, al-Sadd and Ghoul Saroug in Aleppo countryside.

 

Syrian Observatory activists reported earlier in the morning that Turkish forces fired several rockets in the early hours of Saturday morning, targeting positions in Abbin village, Mar’naz and Tel Rifaat in the northern countryside of Aleppo. The rocket fire caused material damage, but no casualties were reported. It is worth noting that regime forces are deployed in Tel Rifaat which also hosts a Russian military base.

 

 

 

SDF-held areas

 

-SOHR activists have reported the entry of a convoy belonging to the International Coalition to Al-Shaddadi base in the countryside of al-Hasakah. The convoy, which comprises 75 vehicles carrying military vehicles and armoured vehicles, have crossed into north and east Syria through al-Waleed crossing on the borders with Kurdistan region of Iraq. Reliable SOHR sources have confirmed that the International Coalition intends to establish a new military base in north and east Syria

 

“De- escalation zone”

 

-Syrian Observatory activists have reported that a Russian fighter jet has executed several airstrikes on the hills of Kabana in the northern countryside of Latakia, but no casualties have been reported. On the other hand, regime forces fired several rockets on Hursh Bayanin, other positions in the southern countryside of Idlib, Hmaymat and al-Hemaydiyyah villages in west Hama countryside.

 

SOHR activists reported earlier this morning intensive rocket fire by regime forces on positions in Jabal al-Zawiyah in the southern countryside of Idlib, as more than 40 rockets and artillery shells hit positions in al-Fterah, Fulayfel, Bayanin. Regime forces also shelled other positions in Bdama in the western countryside of Idlib, al-Ziyyarah and al-Ankawi in Sahl al-Ghab in the north-western countryside of Hama, which resulted in the injury of a woman and a child in Bdama.
