Regime-controlled areas

 

-SOHR activists have reported hearing a loud explosion in the early hours of Sunday morning in the capital, Damascus, exactly the city’s southern part, while a plum of smoke was seen. However, it is not known if the explosion was caused by a new Israeli attack on Syrian territory or it took place after a technical fault.

 

-SOHR activists have documented the death of a civilian in the explosion of an old landmine, while he was working in his farmland in the regime-controlled town of al-Meray’iyyah in Deir Ezzor.

 

-Reliable SOHR sources say that the regime-backed 4th Corps, headed by Maher al-Assad the brother of the Syrian regime’s president, brought in large military reinforcement this morning from Damascus to Daraa. Tens of military personnel carriers have arrived in Daraa province where some of the vehicles headed to Daraa city, while the others headed to the surrounding areas of Tafas and al-Muzayrib in the western countryside of Daraa. However, the reasons behind this reinforcement remained unknown.

 

-SOHR sources have reported that joint patrols of the regime’s military police and military security service have encircled a line of residents awaiting in front of an ice plant in al-Mayadeen city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, where they arrested several young men, driving them to mandatory service.

 

 

Aleppo

 

-SOHR activists have monitored sporadic clashes with heavy and medium weapons between Kurdish forces and the National Army’s factions on the frontline of Herbel in the countryside of Marea town in northern Aleppo.

 

On the other hand, a guided missile was fired by Turkish-backed factions on headquarters of SDF-backed military groups on al-Sajour frontline in Manbij countryside. Meanwhile, clashes erupted on the frontlines of Um Adasa, Basalaja and al-Yashly in the north-west of Manbij town in the eastern countryside of Aleppo. However, no casualties have been reported yet.

 

SOHR activists had reported that one member of al-Bab Military Council was killed and three others were injured on July 23 due to Turkish shelling on the frontlines of al-Lajat, al-Hosheria and al-Arima in the countryside of al-Bab city in eastern Aleppo. Meanwhile, a Kurdish fighter was killed and another was injured yesterday by Turkish bombardment on Sheikh Issa village in Aleppo countryside.

 

On the other hand, Turkish forces bombarded, with heavy artillery, Ahres village which hosts a large number of Syrians who have been displaced from Afrin to north Aleppo countryside, leaving several civilians injured. Kurdish forces reacted by shelling, with heavy artillery and mortars, the vicinity of Marea town and Kaljabreen-Marea road in northern Aleppo. However, no casualties were reported.

 

SOHR activists reported artillery fire by Turkish forces and their proxy factions on Kurdish-held areas in Mar’naz and other positions in northern Aleppo and southern countryside of Afrin. This bombardment came after several rockets hit residential neighbourhoods in Afrin city, which resulted in the injury of eight civilians, including four children and two women. Meanwhile, another woman was injured after a rocket hit the suburbs of Mare’ city in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

 

 

SDF-held areas

 

-SOHR sources have reported that Syria Democratic Forces released a young man after being arrested three hours earlier from his house in al-Shuhayl town over a complaint by civilian following a fight between the two men. The young man was lashed and punched before he released, as marks of torture on his body were obvious.

 

 

“Peace Spring” areas

 

-SOHR activists say that workers from regime workshops have arrived at Allouk water station in “Peace Spring” areas, under protection by Turkish and Russian forces, in order to reactivate the station, after reconnection of electricity. This development comes after nearly a month of suspension of work in the station which provides al-Hasakah city and surrounding villages with water.

 

-SOHR activists have monitored fierce clashes among groups of the Turkish-backed “Jaysh al-Sharqiyyah” in Ras al-Ain city (Sere Kaniye) in al-Hasakah countryside, in areas under the control of “Peace Spring” operations room. According to SOHR sources, the clashes left one of the relatives of a commander in “Jaysh al-Sharqiyyah” dead, while five other militiamen sustained various injuries.

 

 

“De- escalation zone”

 

-SOHR activists have reported that regime forces bombarded, with heavy artillery, the outskirts of Qastoun, al-Mansoura, al-Qahira, al-Ankawi villages in Sahl al-Ghab in the north-western countryside of Hama and al-Halouba village in southern Idlib. Meanwhile, the factions targeted, with a guided missile a 14.5 mm machine gun on the frontline of Hantoteen in southern Idlib. However, no casualties have been reported yet.
