Suspicious explosion | Weapons and ammunition warehouse explodes in northern Idlib

Idlib province: SOHR activists have reported hearing a loud explosion this morning in the northern countryside of Idlib, caused by the explosion of a weapons and ammunition warehouse in Ma’rata al-Shalaf village. However, no casualties have been reported so far. Also, the reasons behind the explosion and the body owing this warehouse remained unknown. It is worth noting that Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and other jihadi groups operate in this region.

 

SOHR sources have just reported that clashes erupted in the early hours of Monday morning between unknown gunmen and HTS members stationed at al-Ram checkpoint near Maarrat Sarin junction in Idlib city following an attack by the gunmen on the checkpoint. It is worth noting that the exchange of fire lasted for a few minutes, before the gunmen escaped, amid reports of the injury of several HTS members.

 

On July 23, SOHR activists documented the death of a child and injury of another child when they were hit by indiscriminate gunshots during clashes between an armed man and members of “Damascus Gathering” in al-Fouaa town near Idlib city. While HTS security services were on high alert in al-Fouaa town, amid ongoing tension. However, no further details were reported.
