Mostly children | Five civilians killed in massacre committed by regime forces in al-Yadoudah in Daraa countryside

Daraa province: SOHR activists have documented a spike in the death toll of the massacre committed by regime forces in al-Yadoudah town in Daraa countryside, as five civilians, a woman and her little son and three other children, were killed in rocket fire by regime forces on the town, near Daraa city. The death toll is expected to rise further as the bombardment left several people injured, some seriously, while others are stuck under the rubble.

SOHR initial reports had confirmed the death of a civilian woman and her little son after regime forces fired over ten “elephant rockets”, short-range surface-to-surface rockets, on al-Yadoudah town near Daraa city. Moreover, the town has experienced displacement of civilians. Accordingly, the number of civilians killed today due to regime rocket fire in Daraa rose to three, they were a man in Daraa al-Balad and a woman and her son in al-Yadoudah town.

On the other hand, violent clashes and intensive bombardment continued on several frontlines in the eastern and western countryside of Daraa and in Daraa city, while local gunmen managed to capture more positions and checkpoints which regime forces were stationed in, as they captured at least 18 positions since morning in Um al-Mayazen, Nasib, customhouse area in Nasib, al-Tayba, Sayda, Kahil, al-Harrak and al-Maliha in the eastern countryside of Daraa. Regime forces therefore were expelled from these areas. Accordingly, 11 areas in eastern Daraa became free of regime forces and security services, after air-force intelligence service had withdrawn yesterday from Sahwa, Alma and al-Msifra.

In west Daraa countryside, however, the local gunmen managed to capture six posts and checkpoints in Tasil, al-Bakarah and al-Shajarah, along with violent clashes nearby Inkhil, Nawa Tafas and Jasim in western countryside and in Daraa al-Balad in Daraa city.

The clashes throughout Daraa province left more fatalities, as the number of local gunmen killed today reached five, and they were as follows: a fighter in Daraa al-Balad and four fighters in the western countryside of Daraa, including a commander whom regime forces asked to leave to north Syria region. Also, eight regime soldiers were killed in the these clashes.

Furthermore, the gunmen managed to capture over 40 regime soldiers and loyal militiamen during today’s clashes across east and west Daraa countryside.
