Regime-controlled areas
-SOHR activists have confirmed that the members of the regime’s air-force intelligence service withdrew from several checkpoints and were stationed in other positions in Daraa countryside, while negotiations are still underway in the Municipal Stadium in Daraa. The air-force intelligence service have withdrawn and removed the checkpoints in the area between Bosr al-Harir and Nahteh and in al-Buwayr town in al-Lajat area.
On the other hand, representatives of the people of Daraa city and delegations from the eastern and western countryside of Daraa have agreed on forming a joint committee, amid reports of approval by the security committee in Daraa province, under Russia’s pressure, to implement the terms of the previous agreement which stipulated for the evacuation of gunmen who refused reconciliation deals.
A few hours ago, SOHR sources reported that a meeting was held in the Municipal Stadium in Daraa and attended by security commanders, officers of the regime-backed 4th Division and representatives of the people of Hawaran and central committee in Daraa, at a request by Russian forces which supervise the negotiations, as a new round of negotiations started in the past few hours. However, no agreements were reached so far.
This development came after expelling regime forces stationed at several checkpoints across Daraa. Meanwhile, the recent negotiations coincided with mortar fire by regime forces on Daraa al-Balad town, but no casualties were reported.
SOHR activists had documented the death of eight civilians due to regime rocket fire on populated residential neighbourhoods in Daraa province. the breakdown of fatalities was as follows:
- A man and a child in Daraa al-Balad
- A man in Jasim
- A woman and her little son and three other children in al-Yadouda.
The death toll is expected to rise further as the bombardment left several people injured, some seriously.
On the other hand, the number of local gunmen killed in bombardment and clashes with regime forces throughout Daraa province since morning has jumped to seven, and they were as follows:
- A fighter in Daraa al-Balad
- A fighter in Jasim
- A fighter in al-Muzayrib
- Four fighters in the western countryside of Daraa, including a commander whom regime forces asked to leave to north Syria
Also, eight regime soldiers were killed in the these clashes.
The death toll is expected to rise further as the bombardment and clashes left several persons injured, some seriously. There are unconfirmed reports of more casualties.
A few hours earlier, SOHR sources reported that regime forces fired over ten “elephant rockets”, short-range surface-to-surface rockets, on al-Yadoudah town near Daraa city.
On the other hand, violent clashes and intensive bombardment continued on several frontlines in the eastern and western countryside of Daraa and in Daraa city, while local gunmen managed to capture more positions and checkpoints which regime forces were stationed in, as they captured at least 18 positions since morning in Um al-Mayazen, Nasib, customhouse area in Nasib, al-Tayba, Sayda, Kahil, al-Harrak and al-Maliha in the eastern countryside of Daraa. Regime forces therefore were expelled from these areas. Accordingly, 11 areas in eastern Daraa became free of regime forces and security services, after air-force intelligence service had withdrawn yesterday from Sahwa, Alma and al-Msifra.
In west Daraa countryside, however, the local gunmen managed to capture six posts and checkpoints in Tasil, al-Bakarah and al-Shajarah, along with violent clashes nearby Inkhil, Nawa Tafas and Jasim in western countryside and in Daraa al-Balad in Daraa city.
The clashes throughout Daraa province left more fatalities, as the number of local gunmen killed today reached five, and they were as follows: a fighter in Daraa al-Balad and four fighters in the western countryside of Daraa, including a commander whom regime forces asked to leave to north Syria region. Also, eight regime soldiers were killed in the these clashes.
Furthermore, the gunmen managed to capture over 40 regime soldiers and loyal militiamen during today’s clashes across east and west Daraa countryside.
Aleppo
SOHR sources have reported that Turkish forces and their proxy factions have shelled positions in Tel Madiq, Ibbin, Oqaybah, Deir Jamal, the surrounding areas of Tel Rifaat and Sadd al-Shahbaa where Kurdish forces are deployed in the northern countryside of Aleppo. However, no casualties have been reported.
SDF-held areas
-Syrian Observatory activists have reported seeing Russian and Turkish forces running a new joint patrol in al-Hasakah countryside. The patrol, which comprised four Russian vehicles and four Turkish, set of from Sherik crossing in the west of al-Darbasiyah ant toured the villages of Dalik, Malak, Abbas, Zahr al-Arab, Kasra junction in the northern countryside of Abu Rasin (Zarkan), Salam Alik, Qunaitara and Qarmaniyah, before the patrol returned to the stating point. The patrol was escorted by two Russian helicopters. It is worth noting that this is the third Russian-Turkish joint patrol to be conducted in the region in July.
-SOHR sources have reported that Turkish forces and their proxy factions targeted, with heavy weapons, the villages of al-Dardarah, al-Kuzaliyah, al-Khashmah and the road between Tel Tamr and Abu Rasin (Zarkan) in Tel Tamr countryside in al-Hasakah province. Meanwhile, Syria Democratic Forces responded to the Turkish attack by shelling positions of Turkish forces and their proxies in “Peace Spring” areas which are opposite SDF-held areas in al-Hasakah countryside. However, no casualties have been reported.
“De-escalation zone”
-SOHR sources have reported that jihadists in Jurin town in the north-western countryside of Hama. Meanwhile, factions of “al-Fath al-Mubin” operations room shelled, with heavy artillery, regime positions in Miznaz and Kafr Halab in the western countryside of Aleppo. No casualties have been reported.
SOHR sources reported earlier today that Russian fighter jets renewed their airstrikes this afternoon, targeting positions in Ihsim and Mar’ian in Jabal al-Zawiyah in southern Idlib with over five airstrikes, which resulted in the injury of at least one man and caused material damage.
A few hours earlier, Observatory activists said that Russian jets executed several airstrikes on the “de-escalation zone” this morning, targeting positions in Jabal al-Zawiyah in the southern countryside of Idlib, which hosts a Turkish observation post, but no casualties were reported.
On the other hand, regime forces fired several rockets on Iblin and al-Bara in southern Idlib.
