ISIS escalation attacks in Syrian Desert| Regime-backed faction member killed in new ISIS attack

A member of the regime-backed fighters in Deir Ezzor has been killed, in the morning, in an ambush by ISIS cells on the Deir Ezzor -Palmyra road.

On the other hand, bombings have been heard near regime’s military checkpoints in al-Sukhna desert in the eastern countryside of Homs. According to SOHR reliable sources, the explosions have been carried out by IEDs which were planted by ISIS cells near the military checkpoints. However, no casualties have been reported yet.

Since 24th of March 2019, SOHR has documented the killing of at least 1,510 regime soldiers and loyalists of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, including at least two Russians, and 153 Iranian-backed militiamen of non-Syrian nationalities. All were killed in attacks, bombings and ambushes by the “Islamic State”, west of Euphrates in the deserts of Deir Ezzor, al-Raqqah, Homs, al-Suwaidaa, Hama and Aleppo.

Also, four civilians working in gas fields, tens of shepherds and other civilians including women and children were killed and documented by SOHR in the same period, from late March 2019 until today. They were killed in attacks by ISIS cells. While 973 ISIS members were also killed in attacks and bombardment in the same period.
