For unknown reasons | SDF arrests a leader responsible for guarding oil wells in Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported that SDF has arrested a leader known as al Dabaa who was responsible for guarding oil wells in al-Omar oil field.

Al-Dabaa was arrested with six of his fighters after being summoned to al-Shadady city for investigation for unknown reasons.

It is worth noting that al-Dabaa, who hails from the town of al-Shuhayl in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, committed with his group several violations against civilians. In early 2021, an SDF group affiliated t to al-Dabaa informed several displaced families in the town of al-Shuhayl that they had to leave the town within 48 days, before the group’s members stormed ten houses of displaced people in the town, beat the displaced people and arrested the adult and young men, which ignited widespread discontent and anger among al-Shuhayl residents.

It is worth noting that unknown gunmen attacked al-Dabaa’s house with RPGs, a few days after that incident.

Al-Dabaa was subjected to an assassination attempt near al-Be’r al-Azraq on December 17, 2020. He was arrested by the International Coalition Forces and SDF on September 1, 2019, for financing Islamic State cells before he was released a few days later.
