Landmine explosion | Four civilians killed while harvesting fig crop in Idlib countryside

Aleppo province: Four civilians of Idlib and Hama countryside have sustained different wounds in land mine explosion, today, around al-Barah in southern Idlib countryside during their harvesting fig crop.

On August 2, SOHR activists reported that an old landmine exploded in the morning on the outskirts of Maarbeleit village in the southern countryside of Idlib, which caused the injury of a man while he was picking figs.

Landmines and old ordnance pose a great threat to civilians in this region during harvest seasons, as Idlib and Hama provinces are famous for the variety of agriculture crops as well as the variety of their fruit-bearing trees such as pistachio, fig, olive, almond, mahaleb cherry and wild capers plant.
