Old ordnance | Landmine explosion kills two sibling children in Afrin countryside

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have documented the death of a child affected by his injuries he sustained yesterday due to the explosion of an old landmine, yesterday, in Mayasah area in Afrin countryside. The explosion had also killed the boy’s little brother instantly, as the two brothers were grazing sheep in that region.

 

Yesterday, SOHR activists documented the death of a 15-year-old boy and injury of another child, after the explosion of an old landmine while they were grazing sheep in Mayasah village of Shirawa district in Afrin countryside in northern Aleppo. That village is also near the frontlines with the Turkish-backed factions.

 

Syrian Observatory activists have documented the death of 561 people, including 78 women and 186 children, by mines and IED explosions and the collapse of cracked residential buildings in several areas of the Syrian territory in Homs, Hama, Deir Ezzor, Aleppo and the Syrian South since early January 2019.
