Idlib | Uncertainty surrounding explosion kills and injures four children and a woman in Taftanaz

SOHR activists have reported that a child was killed while three of his brothers were injured, one of them seriously, as well as the injury of a woman due to an explosion believed to be of old ordinance in a house in Taftanaz village in north-eastern Idlib.

On the other hand, a child lost his hand, while he was playing with an old explosive projectile in Salamiyah city in the countryside of Hama.

Earlier this morning, SOHR activists documented the death of a child affected by his injuries he sustained yesterday due to the explosion of an old landmine, in Mayasah area in Afrin countryside. The explosion had also killed the boy’s little brother instantly, as the two brothers were grazing sheep in that region in Mayasah village of Shirawa district in Afrin countryside in northern Aleppo. That village is also near the frontlines with the Turkish-backed factions.

Syrian Observatory activists have documented the death of 562 people, including 78 women and 187 children, by mines and IED explosions and the collapse of cracked residential buildings in several areas of the Syrian territory in Homs, Hama, Deir Ezzor, Aleppo and the Syrian South since early January 2019.
