Joint security campaign | Coalition Forces and SDF Special Forces arrest Iraqi ISIS Emir in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR sources have reported that International Coalition Forces and SDF Special Forces, backed by four helicopters and a fighter jet, have launched a joint security campaign in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, where they stormed a house rented by an Iraqi ISIS Emir (top commander) in Muhaymidah town.

 

According to SOHR sources, two helicopters landed in the region where soldiers were deployed and clashes with the ISIS Emir for nearly 40 minuets before they managed to arrest him and blew up his house.

 

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that Syria Democratic Forces and the International Coalition arrested an ISIS commander during a new airdrop in Abu Khashab town in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

 

According to security sources the commander was accused of “working on promoting ISIS ideology on media and facilitating ISIS members’ movement in the region”. It is worth noting that weapons and ammunition where found in the possession of the arrested commander.

 

Accordingly, the number of SDF security operations, backed by the International Coalition, since the beginning of August have risen to three.

 

On August 5, SOHR sources reported that SDF Rapid Response forces, supported by International Coalition aircraft, stormed a house in Theban town in east Deir Ezzor countryside, attested an ISIS member and seized weapons in his possession.
