Daraa developments | Russian patrols and four “Green” vehicles arrive in al-Saraya checkpoint between besieged Daraa and al-Mahata

 

Daraa province: Russian forces patrols escorted by four vehicles have arrived at al-Saraya checkpoint that separated Daraa al-Balad and Daraa al-Mahata. SOHR activists have reported that that four “Green” vehicles and several cars carrying some civilians who are likely correspondents of regime media to report exist of the besieged civilians in Daraa al-Balad to the vehicles of to the neighborhood of Daraa al-Mahata.

Earlier in the day, regime forces bombarded with Gvozdika shelling in the vicinity of a leader’s headquarters in Tafs and the northwest hills in al-Yadoodah neighborhood in western Daraa.

According to sources, the opposition leader reported that he doesn’t trust Russia and refuses to hand over his weapons. On the other hand, regime forces and the 4th Division bombarded with tanks and heavy weapons shells several neighborhood in Daraa.

The escalations came few hours before a meeting that will be hold between the Russian delegation and the negotiating central committee in Daraa.

Yesterday, SOHR sources have reported that the negotiation committees and the Russian delegation have agreed on starting a new round of negotiations tomorrow, Sunday, which will followed by several meetings and communications between the Russians and the Central Committees in Hawaran in order to discuss several terms of the “Russian proposal” with the aim to put an end to the military escalation in Daraa.

The “Russian proposal”, which accords with the regime forces’ requests, includes the following terms:

• Handing over of weapons in possession of civilians in Daraa.

• Evacuation of suspects to north Syria

• The entry of military forces to city centres and towns.

• Ceasefire and de-escalation throughout Daraa.
