For various charges | Turkish backed factions arrest 13 civilians from Afrin, asking for ransoms

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that Turkish-backed militiamen arrested a civilian from Satia village in Jendires district on August 12, while he was on his way back to Afrin from the Kurdish-held areas in Tel Kurah in the northern countryside of Aleppo. the factions asked the civilian’s family to pay a ransom of 500 USD in return for releasing him. Meanwhile, in Kartalak Kabeer village, members of Al-Sultan Murad arrested ten residents from the village on August 12, taking them to an unknown destination. However, charges against them have not been revealed yet.

 

Similarly, on August 11, members of Nour al-Deen al-Zenky arrested a civilian from Rumadya village in Jendires district for “previously belonging to the Coalition Party”. The man was taken to an unknown destination.

 

Also, on August 9, members of Turkish backed factions in Azaz city in the northern countryside of Aleppo arrested a youth from Ekidam village in Sharran district in the countryside of Afrin, while he was trying to smuggle himself to Turkish territory.

 

Earlier this month, SOHR activists reported that members from Turkish backed factions arrested dozens of civilians from different areas in north-western Aleppo, some of whom were released later in return for large ransoms.
