Old ordinance | Four children injured in an explosion of unexploded shell in Deir Ezzor city

SOHR activists have reported that four children were injured in the explosion of an unexploded shell, while they were playing with it and trying to extract the gunpowder. The explosion took place in a devastated building in Abu Akeel street in the regime-controlled neighborhood of al-Jabeela in Deir Ezzor province.

 

SOHR activists reported that two of the children sustained serious injuries, as one of them aged 13 years lost his left leg, while the other has a serious wound in the head.

 

On August 18, SOHR activists reported that two displaced children from Afrin sustained various wounds due to the explosion of an old landmine in a farm in Tel al-Shaeer village of Babens town in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

 

Similarly, on August 15, SOHR activists reported death of two children in a land mine explosion of war ordnance, while grazing the sheep in al-Solma village around al-Khafsa neighborhood in northeastern Aleppo province under control of the regime forces.

 

While on August 12, a 15-year-old child was killed and another one was wounded in a land mine explosion, believed to be part of the war ordnance while they had grazed cattle in Maysa village in Shuro neighborhood in Afrin countryside in north Aleppo. The village is close to the frontlines of Turkey-backed factions controlling areas.
