Internal factions fighting | Armed clashes among Turkish-backed factions causes wounded in Ras al-Ain city

Al-Hasaka province: Syrian Observatory sources have reported that five members of the Turkish-backed factions were injured in clashes with machineguns between civil police and military police, in the vicinity of a hospital in Ras al-Ain city in the Peace Spring areas in al-Hasaka countryside.

According to SOHR sources, the medical staff has been on a strike after members of Ahrar al-Sharqiya and al-Hamza division assaulted them. The sources have mentioned that the clashes between factions have been escalated over appointing new doctors and new administration to the hospital.

On Aug 11, SOHR activists reported clashes with machineguns between the civil police on one side and members of al-Hamzah Division on the other near Dawaar al-Bareed in middle of Ras al-Ain city under control of “Peace Spring” area in al-Hasakah countryside. Ten militants sustained severe wounds in the clashes.

According to SOHR sources, policemen prevented members of al-Hamzah Division from crossing a metal checkpoint near Dawaar al-Bareed in Ras al-Ain city. Following verbal clashes among them, a member affiliated to al-Hamzah Division shot a member of the civil police which led to clashes between the two sides in the middle of the city.

Meanwhile, al-Hamzah Division promoted its members’ readiness and brought reinforcements to the city of Ras al-Ain city amid closure of shops and fears of civilians of renewing clashes.
