Planned to escape to Turkish-held areas | ISIS members among seven people arrested by “Counter-terrorism Forces” in Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR sources have reported that the SDF-backed Counter-terrorism Forces stormed, yesterday, the house of a smuggler in al-Suwar town, arresting seven young men, including ISIS members, from Deir Ezzor countryside. According to SOHR sources, the arrested people were prepared for sneaking to into areas under the control of Turkish forces and their proxy factions in al-Hasakah countryside.

 

On August 17, SOHR sources reported that the Internal Security Forces (Asayish), backed by International Coalition Forces, arrested a person leading an ISIS sleeping cell in al-Hasakah city with machineguns and equipment in his possession.

 

While on August 8, SDF Counter-terrorism Units launched a security campaign, with International Coalition support, in al-Shaddadi countryside in al-Hasakah countryside. According to SOHR sources, the security campaign targeted two members of ISIS cells who were hiding near Tel al-Jair neighborhood in the east of al-Shaddadi town, as the security forces arrested them and confiscated technical equipment and documents in their possession.
