Routine patrol | US forces tour Tel Tamr in al-Hasakah countryside following the recent military escalation

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have reported seeing US helicopters flying over Tel Tamr city and its surrounding areas, as a patrol of four US armoured vehicles was touring the region.

This patrol came after the military escalation in this area in the past few days, as SOHR sources reported on August 26 that a Turkish drone struck a van carrying correspondents of a local Kurdish TV channel on the road to Tel Tamr in al-Hasakah countryside, which caused material damage only.

According to sources, a group of correspondents and journalists working for Sterk TV were heading to conflict zones, before they returned back when they were targeted by the Turkish drone.

This incident came in light of the Turkish drones’ escalating attacks on civilians, military personnel and press and media activists.

A day earlier, SOHR sources reported that a Turkish drone attacked a position in the Kurdish-held village of Baylouniyah in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

On August 22, a Turkish drone attacked a vehicle of the Autonomous Administration in front of the orphanage in Himo village in al-Qamishli city in al-Hasakah countryside, which caused material damage.

While on August 21, SOHR sources reported that a Turkish drone fired at least one missile on a vehicle in Sofyan village in the south of Ain al-Arab city (Kobani) in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, which caused material damage only.

Similarly, on August 19, a Turkish drone attacked a military vehicle near Ali Fru junction on the road between al-Qamishli and Amuda in the western countryside of al-Qamishli, which resulted in the death of an Iranian commander of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), two days later, affected by his injuries

On that day, August 19, a Turkish drone also attacked the headquarters of the military relations bureau of Tel Tamr Military Council, killing nine people, including commanders, and injuring over ten others.
