De-escalation zone | Escorting by scouting aircrafts, Russian warplanes target southern Idlib

Idlib province: SOHR activists has documented four air raids by Russian warplanes that targeted surrounding parts of Kansfera and al-Barah in Jabal al-Zawiyah in southern Idlib that coincided with scouting Russian aircrafts in the region.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that Russian fighter jets executed eight airstrikes since morning, targeting positions in the surrounding areas of al-Bara, al-Mawzarah and Ain Larouz in the west of Jabal al-Zawiyah in the southern countryside of Idlib. No casualties have been reported so far.

These airstrikes coincided with flights by Russian reconnaissance drones over the region.

Accordingly, the number of airstrikes executed by Russian fighter jets on military positions and posts in the “de-escalation zone” since early August has exceeded 80. These airstrikes targeted positions in the countryside of Idlib, Latakia and Hama.
