Turkish-backed factions’ violations in Afrin | Al-Sham Corps imposes levies on Yazidi families in Shirawa district

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that the Islamic al-Sham Corps which is close to the Turkish Intelligence has imposed levies of 100 USD on each Yazidi family living in Burj Abdalu village in Shirawa district in Afrin countryside, north-west of Aleppo. In addition, al-Sham Corps has imposed additional levies on the rich people of the village.

 

According to SOHR sources, Burj Abdalu village hosts nearly 50 Yazidi families, mostly women and elders.

 

On August 25, SOHR activists reported that the military police in Afrin city stormed several houses in al-Ashrafeya neighborhood and arrested four civilians, including two women of Jindires district for unknown charges.

 

While on August 23, al-Sham Corps-backed Osod al-Sham controlling of Maydan Akbis village detained four civilians including minors, where the adults were charged of going out on guard patrols during the former control of the “Autonomous Administration” on the village, while the minors were charged of filming video clips and sending them to their relatives, which is considered as a crime by the Turkish-backed factions.

 

Also, on August 18, a military police patrol arrested four young men in Hakja village in Jindires district in Afrin, without knowing the charges against them. But, they were released after paying a ransom of 3000-5000 Turkish Liras.

The Turkish-backed factions detained civilians in Afrin and accused them of communicating with the former “Autonomous Administration”, aiming to collect ransoms.
