Hours before implementing new agreement | Woman killed in regime artillery fire on rural Daraa, while Daraa al-Balad neighbourhoods come under attack
Daraa province: SOHR activists have reported that a woman was killed in artillery fire by regime forces on al-Muzayraa town in Daraa countryside.
Similarly, a young man was injured in Tafs city, west of Daraa, after being hit with an indiscriminate gunshot fired by regime forces stationed at checkpoints in Tel al-Seman and al-Tablin.
On the other hand, artillery shells were fired on the neighborhoods of Daraa al-Balad. However, no casualties have been reported yet.
SOHR activists had reported that a delegation of the Central Committee in Hauran met with the regime’s Security Committee, under Russian supervision, on the last day of the time limit of the Russian roadmap which was set to be implemented by Wednesday, August 31. The Security Committee and the Russian delegation agreed on starting the implementation of the demands starting from tomorrow.
The new agreement included the following items:
- Starting ceasefire.
- Striking settlement deals with suspects.
- Handing over of weapons.
- Evacuation of suspects who reject the settlement and reconciliation.
- Entry of Russian Military Police to Daraa al-Balad and lifting the Russian and internationally recognized Syrian flags
- Establishment of three joint posts of Military Security service and the 8th Brigade of the 5th Corps.
Earlier today, SOHR activists reported that dignitaries from different areas in Daraa entered new negotiations with the Central Committee in Daraa al-Balad at Russian demand to convince the gunmen to completely hand over their weapons and leave to north Syria.
SOHR activists had reported escalation of unprecedented rocket and artillery fire on besieged Daraa al-Balad, that conduced with the ongoing violet lashes between the 4th Division and its factions on one side and the local gunmen on the other, in bids by the regime to storm Daraa al-Balad districts under intensive fire coverage without change in the controlling map in the region till the moment.
A few hours earlier, SOHR activists reported the bombardment of nearly 20 land-land rockets on residential neighborhood in besieged Daraa al-Balad in the early hours of Monday. The attacks coincided with the 4th Division attempts that are backed by allied factions to advance towards besieged Daraa al-Balad amid continuous rocket and heavy weapons fore at the frontlines of the areas.
Local gunmen attacked in the early hours of Tuesday, tanks brigade with heavy weapons in al-Sheikh Saad town in western Daraa. The regime forces bombarded with heavy artillery checkpoint of the air intelligence in Dael city with RPG and heavy weapons. But, no causalities were reported, while the regime forces continued its strikes with mortars on districts in the besieged Daraa al-Balad.
