Arrests and release for ransom | Turkish-backed factions arrest more Afrin population and release other for ransom

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that Malak Shah faction that has been controlling Koublak village in Sheran neighborhood in Afrin countryside have arrested a civilian in the village on August 29 on charges of working with the former Autonomous Administration and took him to unknown place.

On the other hand, al-Noukbah faction that is controlling Shikho Tikka village on August 27 has arrested three civilians of the village population and took them the their headquarter in Emara village in Afrin village, and asked their relatives to pay 1,000 to 1,500 Turkish lira to release them.

On August 23, a military police patrol has stormed a house in Ba’andaly village in Ma’abatly town and arrested a female of the populations and sent her to Ma’ratah prison, but charges against her remained unknown.

Meanwhile, the military police on August 22 has released a Kurdish female from Ba’adina village one day after her arrest as her relatives have paid 2,000 US dollars.

In Qurihal village in Shirawa town, the Turkish forces have released on August 24 a civilian of the village after three years and even months in Ma’ratah prison o charges of working with the former Autonomous Administration.

On the other hand, the military police has released a young man from Abodan village in Bulbul town after returning back from Aleppo on August 22. He was released two days ago after his family has paid 5,000 US dollars and he was tortured and beaten.

Also, the military police in Sheran has released two days ago a young man. He was arrested after returning back to his village coming from Aleppo on August 22. The forces have imposed one million Syrian Lira as levy for his release in addition to suffering severe torture and beating.
