Aleppo | Factions infighting renew in Afrin

Aleppo countryside: SOHR activists have reported renewing sporadic violent clashes bwteen al-Hamazah Division on one side, and Soqour al-Ghab factions headed by Moataz Abdullah on the other in the village of Ma’ratah in Afrin countryside that extended to Afrin-Jandiras road in the early hours of Thursday, before other military forces have joined for ending the clashes. But, no casualties have been reported yet.

SOHR resources in Afrin city, have reported few hours ago that violent clashed took place between al-Hamzah faction on one side and Moataz Abdullah-led Souqor al-Ghab faction on the other side in villages of Ma’ratah, Fouqiran and Joulqan in Afrin countryside in an attempt by Moataz Abdullah to restore all the headquarters he lost a month ago.

Al-Hamzah faction has brought military enforcements to villages of Ma’ratah, Joulqan and Fouqiran villages in an attempt to restore those villages after been lost on Wednesday evening. Meanwhile, al-Ashmaat and Nour el-Deen al-Zinky factions have sent military reinforcements to the region to support al-Hamzah Division faction against Moataz Abdullah group.

It is worth noting that leader of Souqor al-Ghab, Moataz Abdullah, was accused of killing Afrin citizen from Kazayah village population on August 22 after the civilian bid to prevent Moataz Abdullah of looting his house possessions after fleeing the village due to factions infighting. The civilian body was found dead in land nearby Derakirah village in Ma’batly countryside with signe of torture on the body.
