Engaged in military operations in Syria | Bulgarian security services arrest four Syrians, after bragging about beheading Shiite people

Fearing prosecution in Europe | Two Syrian fighters escape from Bulgaria to Turkey

Reliable sources have told SOHR that the Bulgarian security services arrested four Syrian people, who were preparing for seeking refuge in European countries after they came to Bulgaria from Turkey, in a makeshift refugee camp known as “the Camp”.

According to the sources, a group of six Syrian people from Saraqeb area in the eastern countryside of Idlib managed to reach Bulgaria from Turkey with the aim for applying for asylum in European countries. While the Syrian people were in “the Camp” telling other inhabitants about the battles they engaged in Syria, especially the eastern neighbourhoods of Aleppo city, they bragged about beheading Shiite people during these battles. However, they had no photos or video footages proving their stories.

It is worth noting that the four of those Syrians were fighters of the factions of “Jabhat Thowwar Saraqeb”, while one was a fighter of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham. The sixth Syrian man was a civilian who had joined no military formations, but his brother was a fighter of Jund al-Sham organization.

The sources added that someone heard the Syrians and informed the Bulgarian security services which issued a formal summon to two of the Syrians and arrested the four others. The two persons who were summoned managed to escape from Bulgaria and returned to Turkey, at a time when investigations have been underway with the four others.
