First joint patrol in Aleppo in September | Turkish and Russian forces tour Ain al-Arab countryside (Kobani)

SOHR activists have reported seeing Russian and Turkish forces running a new joint patrol in Ain al-Arab countryside (Kobani) in the eastern countryside of Aleppo. The patrol set off from Ashma area and toured villages in Ain al-Arab countryside, before they returned to the starting point. This patrol comes as a part of routine joint patrols between Russian and Turkish forces in the region.

On August 31, SOHR sources reported that Russian military police and Turkish forces toured Ain al-Arab countryside (Kobani). It is worth noting that this patrol was the 69th between the two sides. The joint patrol, which comprised eight Russian and Turkish military vehicles escorted by two Russian helicopters, set off from Ghareeb village in east Kobani countryside, and toured villages and towns of Kerinyaf, Kosaq, Alishar, Jom Aly, Qourtik, Kubak Satan, Tiri, Teljef, Qabgiq Sageer, Tilk, Ho Laqiyah, Khorbisan Tahtani, Jishan, and Korat Mogh, before returning to the starting point in Ghareeb village.

Later, the Turkish vehicles crossed the border crossing near to Ghareeb village to the Turkish territory, while the Russian vehicles returned to their headquarters in the broadcasting centre in western Kobani.
