On instructions of security services | Rif Dimashq authorities admit residents’ requests to return to “al-Hajar al-Asawad” devastated neighbourhood

SOHR sources have reported that Rif Dimashq Directorate has announced about the start of admitting requested of residents who desire to return to al-Hajar al-Asawad” neighbourhood in the south of the capital, Damascus, starting from September 5, so that the applicants will be subjected to security check. Rif Dimashq Directorate also stated that the applicants have to provide ownership documents ratified by relevant authorities, family registers and copies of IDs.

 

According to SOHR sources in Rif Dimashq, over 70% of the civilians’ houses are uninhabitable, as most of them have been destroyed due to the military operations in the neighbourhood during ISIS control. ISIS members were deported from al-Yarmouk camp and al-Hajar al-Aswad neighbourhood to al-Suwaidaa desert in May 2018, before regime forces entered al-Yarmouk camp and al-Hajar al-Aswad neighbourhood and looted the remaining properties which survived the aerial and ground bombardment by Russian and regime forces.
