Implementation of Daraa agreement | Cautious calm prevails in Daraa al-Balad, as regime forces and Russian military police continue inspection operations

Daraa province: SOHR sources have monitored ongoing inspection operations by regime forces and Russian military police in the neighbour hoods of Daraa al-Balad, along with tense calm prevailing in the region on the sixth day after the start of implementation of the terms of the recent agreement regarding the situation in Daraa al-Balad.

Moreover, SOHR sources reported partial withdrawal by regime forces from several posts after inspecting surrounding areas for unknown reasons.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported seeing a convoy of the Syrian Red Crescent carrying food supplies entering the neighbourhoods of Daraa al-Balad, Tariq al-Sadd and camps in Daraa city. It is worth noting that this convoy was the first of its kind to enter Daraa after the strict siege which lasted for nearly 80 days.

Earlier this morning, SOHR sources monitored ongoing tense calm on the fifth day after the start of implementation of the terms of the recent agreement regarding the situation in Daraa al-Balad, as regime forces and Russian military police continued inspection in the region, amid the return of more people who were forced to displace due to the earlier military escalation by regime forces.

It was expected that the case of people opposing the recent agreement in Tariq al-Sadd and Daraa camp would be dealt with. These people had the options of leaving to north Syria or to strike new reconciliations, as Russian and regime forces threatened to launch a military operation in that region if the inhabitants did not bow to their demands.
