’Murdered in regime prison | Young man killed in Sydnaya Prison after return back from Turkey via Kasab crossing

Homs province: Family of a young man from north Homs countryside has received the news about their detained son’s death I the regime prisons on August 26, 2021 after his return back from Turkey via the border crossing of Kasab.

According to sources, the family of the victims hasn’t received the body and they attempted to verify the news of his death by paying money to several officers of the regime forces and the military police who stressed his death in Sydnaya Prison.

His brother asked to meet the victim in the detention center, but he was shocked to learn about his death.

It is worth noting that the victim is a 20-year-old civilian who didn’t take part in the anti-regime actions and he travelled to Turkey after his deportation in the green buses and stayed there until 2019 from Kasab crossing border where he was immediately arrested.

SOHR has documented the death of 47,497 civilians under torture in regime’s prisons since the beginning of the Syrian revolution, all documented by names: 47,095 men and young men, 339 children under the age of eighteen, and 64 women over the age of eighteen.

Reliable sources have informed the Syrian Observatory that the number of people killed, executed and/or died in regime prisons exceeded 104,000 people. Over 83% of the total death toll were killed and/or died in these prisons between May 2013 and October 2015. SOHR sources have also confirmed that more than 30,000 detainees were killed in the notorious prison of Sednaya alone, while the second largest percentage of killing occurred in the Air Force Intelligence detention facilities or prisons.
