ISIS resurgence | ISIS cells attack on regime forces positions around oil station in Deir Ezzor
SOHR activists have reported clashes at the frontlines of the vicinity of oil station known as TS that is stationed in al-Mayadeen desert in east Deir Ezzor between the regime forces and its proxies on one side and ISIS on the other sides in the latter attack on the region.
The attacks coincided with exchange of clashes amid rocket fire by the regime forces at the vicinity of the neighborhood and firing flash bombs. But, reports about casualties have been confirmed.
Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that factions of Abu al-Fadel, Saydah Zynab and Fatimyoun began in the past few hours combing the Syrian desert starting from Faydaat Ibn Moneai in al-Mayadeen desert eat Deir Ezzor until reaching the border line with Iraq in al-Bokamal desert to secure the region given the importance of that road for those militia that moves their freely.
SHOR sources added that such operations are intended to search for ISIS cells and they were headed by National Defense members but they were retreated a lot after stop of the Russian side to provide air support for such campaign in the mentioned areas.
On Sept. 7, Regime forces and its affiliated 5th Corps launched new combing operation in the Syrian desert amid the continuous escalating activities of ISIS. In the early hours of Tuesday, military reinforcement composed of dozens of tanks escorted by Russian fighters have started the operation.
The Warplanes raided caves and hotbeds of ISIS cells. The operation came few hours after the regime forces and its proxies has been attacked by ISIS in al-Soukhna town in eastern Homs countryside that wounded 15 members of the regime forces and their proxies.
