Halted for month | Trade oil flows restored in SFD-held and regime-controlled areas in al-Raqqa countryside

SHOR activists have reported the entry of 200 oil vessels of a businessman “al-Qatargy” to the SDF-held areas via al-Hawarah crossing that is affiliated to al-Tabaqah city in west al-Raqqa countryside to transfer the oil to the SDF-held areas after hiatus for 30 days.

On March 8, reliable sources told SOHR that Syria Democratic Forces allowed the transport of oil from their controlled areas and areas under the control of the Syrian regime, after cessation of transporting oil between these areas for more than 35 days. According to SOHR sources, tens of oil trucks belonging to “Al-Qaterji Company” crossed into Rumaylan in Al-Hasakah countryside in SDF-held areas this afternoon, where they were filled up with oil, then they returned to regime-controlled areas, via Al-Tabaqah crossing in Al-Raqqah countryside. The trucks later headed to the centre of Syria and the Syrian coastlines in order to be unloaded.

On February 18, SOHR activists in regime-held areas in al-Qamishli said that regime forces continued to prevent hundreds of tanks from exiting areas under their control in al-Qamishli towards the SDF-held areas, where about 600 oil tanks belonging to the company of “Al-Qatirji” were left parking at a military security checkpoint near Zori roundabout at the southern entrance to Qamishli, for 20 days earlier. These tanks were supposed to cross towards Rumaylan to be filled up with oil and then head to various Syria areas as usual, but the regime prevented them from doing so for unknown reasons.
