SOHR:Great tension between “Men of Dignity” and Damascus security services in As-Suwayda

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the city of As-Suwayda in southern Syria is witnessing great tension between the so-called Men of Dignity group and the security forces of the Damascus government, where the group has surrounded the Military Intelligence branch.

The Syrian Observatory said that factions affiliated with the “Men of Dignity Movement” surrounded the Military Intelligence branch in the city of As-Suwayda, after the latter attacked today one of its leaders”.

According to the observatory, As-Suwayda has been witnessing great tension that has been going on for hours and at an escalating pace, and the tension began this morning, Sunday, after a group affiliated with the “Military Intelligence” Division kidnapped people from the town of Al-Qurayya and another person from As-Suwayda.  Al-Qarya belongs to the “State Security”, on alert, and threatened the kidnapper to target the house of its leader with “RBG” missiles if the kidnapped were not released without a response from the latter, which led to the aggravation of the situation and the spread of the “Giyari al-Qurayya” group near the Al-Ma’lab roundabout north of the city of As-Suwayda.  They were shot dead by the military intelligence group, which led to the death of a person who was a relative of one of the kidnapped.
In this context, the members of that group closed the Damascus-Suwayda road near the Al-Shaer roundabout in the town of Attil, and started shooting randomly at cars, including the judge’s car (MF), and tried to assassinate him.
