Deri Ezzor | SDF-affiliated special forces storm east Dier Ezzor and arrest cousin of weapons merchants

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported that the SDF-affiliated special forces have stormed in the last hours of Wednesday several houses in al-Shaheel town in east Deir Ezzor countryside in order to arrest a weapon merchant, but they couldn’t and instead have arrested his cousin.

It is worth noting that the arrested man has been wounded in a shooting in 2021 in a tribal feud in the region.

On the other hand, the SDF has targeted a group of smugglers whose activities based towards the regime areas near Abou Hamam in east Deir Ezzor and SDF has reacted with shooting at SDF’s positions, but no casualties have been reported yet.

On Sept. 4, SOHR activists reported that SDF Special Forces escorted by International Coalition carried out a security operation in al-Azba village in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor, where they detained a 15-year-old child who formerly belonged to ISIS.

A day earlier in the evening, SOHR sources reported that SDF, backed by International Coalition helicopters, arrested a man from Theban town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor for working for ISIS cells.

On the other hand, SDF-backed Counter-Terrorism Special Units (H.A.T.) stormed a post of the Self-Defence Forces near the Euphrates River in Abreha village in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor where they arrested two fighters on charges of facilitating the smuggling operations into regime-held areas.
