For unknown reasons | HTS security service arrests a university student in Idlib city

SOHR activists have reported that the security service of HTS has arrested a university student in front of the Culture Center in Idlib city, and took him to a security centre in the city, but the reasons behind the arrest of the student remained unknown.

According to sources, the young man studies dentistry and known for his posts on social media, which oppose HTS policy. The student had received several threatening messages on his phone a few days before his arrest.

On September 7, SOHR activists reported that HTS handed over the dead body of a civilian of al-Atareb region in western Aleppo countryside, who was detained one year ago, after he was sentenced to death, over charges of practicing sorcery and witchcraft.

Local sources added that the civilian died in prison due to a heart attack before his execution. But other sources confirmed to SOHR that HTS executed the man and covered it in an attempt to hide its Jihadist ideology and appear as a moderate faction.

HTS’s Sharia Courts issue the sentences such as death sentence and stoning according to the Islamic Sharia, while corruption and patronage are prominent in those courts, in addition applying of the Financial Penal Law, and collecting fines in case of violating the law.
