For “disturbing his step-mother” | Popular anger prevails in regime-held areas over brutal torture of little boy by his father

As the Syrian Observatory continues disclosing and documenting all violations against the Syrian people, SOHR activists have tracked the case of a little boy from Damascus called “Majd”, which topped the events in Syria today, after the boy sustained cuts and bruises all over his body due to brutal torture by his father under the pretext that “the boy disturbed his step-mother”.

According to SOHR sources, the crime, which took place on Thursday morning in Damascus, started to be disclosed when Majd who is from al-Mazzah 86 area was transported to Damascus hospital by the administration of his school, after marks of domestic torture were obvious on the body of the child, as his father who worked for the Syrian regime’s security service in Kafr Susah area had beaten him cruelly. After investigations, it was found that the reason behind torturing the child was “disturbing his step-mother”. Accordingly, the father was arrested by the military police in al-Qaboun, while the boy was delivered to his mother living in Tartus province.

Meanwhile, a large number of people reacted on social media, expressing sympathy with Majd and their anger against the heinous crime by the father who treated his son as if the boy was a political prisoner and being tortured by the prison’s guards, just like sever torture and atrocities practiced in regime security branches.
