SOHR: Two Syrians killed by Turkish “gendarmerie”

Syrian sources said today, Saturday, that members of the Turkish army opened fire towards a number of displaced Syrians while they were trying to enter Turkish territory, killing two people and wounding many.
The Syrian Observatory said that two men from Deir ez-Zor governorate were shot dead by the Turkish border guards, “Jandarma”, while trying to enter the Turkish territories illegally from the northeastern region of Syria, bringing the death toll of the displaced Syrians by the Turkish army’s fire to 26, including a woman and 6 children, since early 2021.

According to the documentation of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the number of Syrian civilians who have been killed by the “Jandarma” forces since the beginning of the Syrian crisis has reached 485, including 88 children and 45 women.
