“De-escalation zone” | Intensive rocket fire hits positions in Idlib and Aleppo countryside, with frequent flights by reconnaissance drones

SOHR activists have reported flights by Russian reconnaissance drones over south Idlib countryside, west Hama countryside and south Aleppo countryside. Meanwhile, regime forces fired several rockets on the villages of al-Fterah, Fulayfil, al-Bara and Kansafra in Jabal al-Zawiyah in southern Idlib. Moreover, regime forces targeted Sheikh Suleiman frontline in the western countryside of Aleppo with mortars and heavy machineguns.

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that Russian fighter jets renewed their airstrikes on the “de-escalation zone”, bringing the number of airstrikes since morning to at least 23. These airstrikes were distributed as follows:

  • Ten airstrikes hit Balyoun and Mashoun areas in Jabal al-Zawiyah in the southern countryside of Idlib.

  • Four airstrikes hit positions in al-Bara which hosts a Turkish observation post in the same countryside.

  • Four airstrikes on al-Kendah village in the western countryside of Idlib.

  • Five airstrikes hit the frontlines of Kabana, Berzah and al-Khudur in Jabal al-Akrad in northern Latakia.

It is worth noting that the airstrikes of al-Kendah village left a man dead and caused material damage.
