Implementation of Tafas agreement | 700 people strike new reconciliations so far, while regime forces stationed in three new military posts

Daraa province: SOHR sources in Daraa have reported that regime forces established new military posts in Tafas city according to the agreement between the regime security committee and Russian officers on one hand, and dignitaries and notables of Tafas city on the other. Moreover, regime forces will be deployed in the city and surrounding areas, along with the ongoing process of settling security situation of suspects, as the number of local gunmen, military deserters and people who passed their date of joining the mandatory service to regime’s security branches who have struck new reconciliations has exceeded 700.

It is expected that the same terms of agreements reached in Tafas, al-Muzayrib, al-Yadoudah and Daraa al-Balad will be applied in Inkhil city.

SOHR sources in Daraa reported earlier this morning that regime forces started inspecting the civilians’ houses in Tafas city in the western countryside of Daraa in accordance with the agreement between the regime security committee and Russian officers on one hand, and dignitaries and notables of Tafas city on the other, which stipulatee for inspecting the city’s houses and confiscating weapons if found.

This development came after over 500 suspects, including local gunmen, military deserters and people who passed their date of joining the mandatory service to regime’s security branches, had struck new reconciliations.

Yesterday, SOHR activists said that regime officers asked dignitaries of Tafas in the western countryside of Daraa to collect a large sum of money for unknown reasons. According to reliable SOHR sources, the dignitaries of Tafas could collect 300 million Syrian liras (85,000 USD) and delivered the money to the regime officers.

Meanwhile, striking new reconciliations in Tafas city resumed on that day, after being suspended on the previous day following regime forces’ request of handing over a larger amount of weapons. It is worth noting that nearly 500 people had their security situation settled, while Russian military police and regime security services were supposed to enter the city on the following day to start inspecting the city’s houses.

On Saturday, SOHR activists reported that the regime security committee informed Tafas dignitaries in west Daraa countryside that there were a lot of weapons belonged to regime forces seized by local gunmen in the city on July 29, during their attack on Tel al-Samn checkpoints in Daraa countryside.

The security committee expressed their dissatisfaction with the low number of weapons which were handed over on that day, which did not exceed 51 machineguns and RPGs.

The regime security committee threatened the dignitaries of Tafas to unleash military operation in the city, and gave them a time limit till the following day to hand over more weapons.

A few hours earlier, SOHR activists in Tafas city in the western countryside of Daraa reported that the implementation of the agreement reached between the security committee and Russian officers on one hand, and dignitaries and notables of the city on the other, was in progress. Meanwhile, the number of local gunmen, military deserters and people who passed their date of joining the mandatory service to regime’s security branches who settled their security situations reached 310 since morning.

The striking of new reconciliations coincided with the handing over of light and medium weapons, while inspection operations were supposed to start soon.

Observatory sources reported earlier that the Syrian regime’s security committee and the Russian military police entered Tafas city in the western countryside of Daraa in order to start implementing the terms of the agreement reached between representatives and dignitaries of the city on one hand, and the Russians and regime forces on the other.
