Drone attack | Unidentified drone targets vehicle in HTS-held areas in rural Idlib

Idlib province: SOHR activists have reported that an unidentified drone, but believed to be affiliated to the International Coalition, attacked a vehicle on the road between Binnish and Idlib city in Idlib countryside. SOHR sources have suggested that the a commander of a jihadi organization was traveling in the car, when it was attacked. However, no further details were reported on the identity of the commander or the exact number of people who were in the car, as plums of smoke were seen after the car burned down due to the drone attack.

On August 24, Observatory activists documented the death of eight fighters of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham in an explosion, believed to be caused by the explosion of an artillery shell in unknown circumstances, in an HTS training camp in the area of the Scientific Research Centre near Ram Hamadan village in Idlib countryside. Meanwhile, ten other fighters sustained various injuries due to the explosion.

A few hours earlier, SOHR activists documented casualties among fighters of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham in their camp in the area of the Scientific Research Centre near Ram Hamadan village in Idlib countryside. A loud explosion had been heard in the camp, while ambulances were seen rushing to the targeted site.

According to SOHR sources, an armed drone of the International Coalition was flying over the region when the explosion occurred. While other sources confirmed that the explosion was caused by a mistake committed during military drills in the camp. However, the real reasons behind this explosion remained unknown.
