Ceasefire violations | Regime forces renew rocket attacks on positions in Jabal al-Zawiyah and Sahl al-Ghab

SOHR sources in the “de-escalation zone” have reported renewed bombardment by regime forces, after a few hours of tense calm, as rockets and artillery shells hit positions, this morning, in al-Ziyyarah, Kherbet al-Naqous in Sahl al-Ghab in the north-western countryside of Hama, Bayanin and Fulayfel in Jabal al-Zawiyah in the southern countryside of Idlib. However, no casualties have been reported.

On Sunday, SOHR activists documented nearly 17 airstrikes executed by Russian jets on the “de-escalation zone” since morning as a part of the Russian military escalation on the region. The airstrikes were distributed as follows:

-South Idlib countryside

  • Two airstrikes on al-Fterah

  • Five airstrikes on Kansafrah and surrounding areas

  • Three airstrikes on Basames village

  • Three airstrikes on the outskirts of Iblin village

-North Latakia countryside

  • Four airstrikes on the frontlines of Jabal al-Akrad.

Syrian Observatory activists had documented the death of a child and injury of five other civilians due to rocket fire by regime forces on al-Kufayr town to the south of Jisr al-Shughur city. The regime rocket attacks coincided with frequent flights by Russian jets over the “de-escalation zone”.
