Storming smugglers hotbeds | Military forces escorted by armored vehicles deployed near smuggling areas in banks of Euphrates

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported that six Hummer armored vehicles accompanied with large military forces of SDF and the public security troops have headed towards smuggling areas near the banks of Euphrates River in Abu Hammam town eastern of Deir Ezzor, while the military forces deployed in the area, amid reports about deployment of anti-smuggling campaigns in the town.

On September 15, SOHR activists reported that clashes with machineguns erupted between Syria Democratic Forces (SDF) stationed in Abu Hamam town and the regime forces stationed in al-Daweer village, after an SDF patrol raided crossings used for smuggling in the region.

The area experienced families’ exodus from the conflict zones in Abu Hamam town to other areas of the town.

On the other hand, an SDF patrol stormed the river crossings in al-Shaheel town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, and opened fire at regime forces stationed in Buqrus town. However, no casualties were reported.
