For “using US mobile phone numbers on whatsapp” | NDF command arrests several members of the formation in al-Mayadeen city

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists in west Euphrates region have reported that the command of the National Defence Forces (NDF) in al-Mayadeen city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor launched a security campaign, arresting several NDF members in the city for “using whatsapp fake US numbers”.

On September 10, reliable sources in west Euphrates region informed SOHR that the command of Iranian-backed militias in al-Tammu neighbourhood in al-Mayadeen city has forced the regime’s military police to evacuate their posts and checkpoints in al-Jaradiq area in al-Mayadeen city centre in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. According to SOHR sources, the Iranians expelled the military police from their posts for supporting the National Defence Forces (NDF) during a disagreement against members of an Iranian-backed militia.

While on August 2, SOHR activists reported that militias affiliated to Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps seized dozens of farmlands in eastern Dier Ezzor. The militias’ administration asked the land owners in Hawy and al-Magry neighborhoods in eastern Deir Ezzor to head to the militias’ headquarters to prove their ownership of the farmland. The militias later seized the lands whose owners did not head to the militias’ headquarters, most of whom were living outside Deir Ezzor. The sources added that the factions hired the seized land to local members who had close ties with the Iranian-backed militias to invest and cultivate it.
